Amphibians

Amphibians

Amphibians are one of the 5 groups of animals in our zoo, they are land and aquatic creatures. There are many types of amphibians such as frogs, toads, salamanders and others. Amphibians are under the phylum chordata, most amphibians are slimy creatures that live in moist areas, such as rainforests. Most Amphibians are carnivores and eat insects, spiders and worms but some are omnivores. Amphibians are not nearly as fierce as they used to be, back in the cretaceous period there was a frog named the Beelzebufo. It was nicknamed the "devil frog" and was said to be similar in size to a beach ball and destroyed smaller creatures back then. The Beelzebufo had horns on its head and was a force to be wary of.

Even though the Beelzebufo is extinct, there are still some deadly amphibians out there such as the poison dart frog. There are many poison frogs like it but the poison dart frog is known for its bright colors, they are said to have enough toxin to kill 20 humans. These creatures come in beautiful colors, these colors show that they are poisonous though.
