Birds

Birds

Birds are another species in the 5 main species at our zoo, they are a lot different than all the other groups because of their ability to fly. Birds are able to fly because they have hollow bones and wings that give them that ability, some birds have some insanely impressive feats such as the Peregrine Falcon being able to dive at a top speed of 200 MPH or 321.8 KMH which only a few % of cars can reach that speed.

Another thing about birds is they are the only animals with feathers right now, and are the only living descendants of theropod dinosaurs. Back around 8 million years ago there were massive birds roaming the earth, such called Argentavis. These huge creatures had a wingspan of 17-21 feet, but they only weigh in around 150 - 170 pounds.
